Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/12/2022

Number: 1

Willow, our last resident juvenile female of the season, is still with us. Again, she spent all day feeding from her flowers. She seems very content out there. She visited me, as usual, when I was in the garden and "talked" to me with her squeaks. I told her that it really is time for her to start her first migration south as her friends and family are waiting for her down there. Interestingly, I haven't seen her drink from the feeders in days. I did not see any travelers today. We continue to pray for Willow's migratory instinct to kick in strongly any day now as there is some concern about night time temps next week. We don't want an October frost killing all her flowers and insects. God speed to all our traveling darlings!
