Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/15/2022

Number: 1

I'm not sure if our Willow is still with us or not. I didn't see her this morning or throughout the day, as I usually do; however, I spotted one late afternoon/early evening, about 6pm, and she/he continued to feed from the flowers until dark. I did not see her/him go to the feeders in that area, just the flowers. So, either I missed Willow today earlier or Willow departed on her migration and a traveler arrived late afternoon. I'll have a better idea in the morning when I'm out tending to the bird feeders and watering the flowers. I'm really hoping and praying that Willow is now on her first migration and this is a traveler coming through. Either way, God speed to all the hummingbirds in transit! Please keep your feeders up, fresh and clean. Lots of stragglers coming through!

And thank you, Beverly, for your comment regarding the hummingbirds being able to take the cold that's coming. I really appreciated that. I just hope we don't get a frost as I would like the flowers to hold up as long as possible for the hummers.
