The courthouse square in Eldorado, Texas is an annual roosting site for migrating monarchs.

On this day, the group that had been roosting at the courthouse during previous days appeared to leave.

During the morning hours, many monarchs could be observed sailing high up in the air over town and the courthouse square was more or less empty by noon.

Later Thursday afternoon / evening, a few more clusters of migrating monarchs had begun to accumulate.

Number reported in this sighting reflects the morning. By evening the count was likely closer to 100-150.
