Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 10/20/2022

Number: 1

The last chrysalis emerged on Oct 16th, just in time for freezing weather. She was with us for 4 days before the weather warmed up. Today was the day. She sat in the catalpa tree for quite some time, and she was gone.

Like last year, we checked for caterpillars every day, and moved them inside. This year we rescued 61 butterflies. Last year, we rescued 263 butterflies. I hope the monarchs can make a comeback.
