Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 10/21/2022

Number: 1

We got a whole new migrant. Ya'll have to understand how difficult it is for us to get what's here or left. The aggressive sub adult male did check out day before. We now have a new sub adult male very, young seen in maple tree last evening as in
the previous sighting report.
Appeared at 7:15 a.m going to Fiery Hamelia, but not red porterweed,...at all.>Clue #1.
Went outside 8 a.m with field glasses and saw him going to purple inground gurantica , that is now 7 feet tall and loaded with blossoms. Was able to see with not much sunlight his tail spread of buffy orange, and looking for the Rufous hook in bottom tail feathers for verification. He sat in Gurantica until 9 a.m. just looking all about. Then nectars again in gurantica off and on. Not going to feeder yet either.
