Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 10/23/2022

Number: 1

What I think is a possible sub adult very discreet to view Rufous is still here at 7:20 a.m. Wind was horrible yestetday so he hid out.

First as usual goes to Fiery Hamelia just outside of patio storm door. Didn't see him go to red porterweed after. Sits in 7 foot inground Purple Gurantica on twig alternating nectaring/sitting in it until 9 a.m. as far as I can tell with field glass viewing outside.
A Carolina wren came in and didn't get poked like previous Rufous did.

All I know so far with not much light at 7 a.m. this one does not have a grey front like rubythroats do. Have not ruled out a sub adult broadtail yet bc we had one overwintering once.

On a other note this hummer has no clue what a feeder is and we do keep them clean, fresh always.
