I was at 2787 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Temple Texas today when I observed a female monarch butterfly nectaring on some fall asters. A cold front came through Temple yesterday, and I observed probably two dozen butterflies, appearing similar to Snout butterflies, flying in various directions while I was running errands. I watched the monarch for less than five minutes, and in that time I saw a snout butterfly and a giant swallowtail nectaring within about four feet of the monarch. Our current weather is clear and sunny with temperatures in the low seventies and windy.
