I collected this male as a fourth instar on September 17, and raised him outside in a mesh cage. I thought I had plenty of time to raise him, but then the temperatures dropped. We kept the chrysalis in an outdoor incubator my husband built but development was still slow. He wasn't able to fly off yesterday so I put him back in the cage and will try again today. We haven't had a frost yet and flowers are still blooming so I hope he has a chance. This is the 13th and final one I raised this year. More details are on MLMP.org.
