Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 10/26/2022

Number: 12

Along with many other kinds of butterflies, I saw about a dozen Monarchs stopping to feed on wildflowers in my yard and in my community garden plot in north central Austin over the course of a couple of hours. Winds were light from the north after a cool front. Usually, there is a day in October when we see Monarchs flying directionally right over our house, but this year, we have not seen that happening here. We have seen a few Monarchs at a time stopping in our garden throughout the month, and this week seems like the peak.
