The maples were purchased from the UW Extension a few years ago. Only 12in tall. It's our way to give back to our ecology. The deer rubs remind me of that. The oak...that was in the rear of our property, which was once a farm field. To assure the legacy of this tree, we had it moved so it's story could continue without being crowed out and get the light and nutrients necessary to flourish.
