Working in garden yesterday afternoon I was able to tag 22 monarchs visiting a small patch of mistflower.
Due to severe drought this year there is nothing in pasture.9 years ago discovered roost in live oaks on property.2016,2017,and 2021 have been blessed by witnessing huge numbers dropping from sky directly above my home, from northeast direction.

Tagged one about every ten minutes from noon until about 4:00.
50°low 84°high partly cloudy, little breeze
Hanging out in live oak, spanish oaks ,cedars 15-25 foot above ground.
Dropping by my mistflower bar, quick drink and a tag and they're off for their southern vacation
