Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 11/01/2022

Number: 1

We have a juvenile Rufous hummingbird in the backyard. He flew over my head today. I hope he knows when to move on. We had two that stayed through the winter in 2021-22. They survived, but they also created a big worry about our being there to change their feeders to warmer nectar (instead of ice cubes).
Our region sees 17+ hummingbird species during fall migration. It's an amazing experience. The black-chinned hummingbirds will return around March 15 next year.
