Monarch Waystation #271 reports sighting the female monarch at 1:10 pm when I saw a butterfly shadow pass through the back patio door. Previously tagged earlier this month, she was seen today nectaring on the golden tropical milkweeds growing in the back bed and in patio pots nearby. Temps in the 70s here, partly cloudy. She may be waiting for better winds to help her along or maybe her curled right hindwing is handicapping her too much to be able to migrate at all.
