In late morning I saw two monarchs nectaring in a strip of white heath aster near Black Mountain Primary School. Also saw one in late afternoon flying overhead.
A friend saw 2 in Asheville (15 miles to the west) same day. Possibly a small late group coming through our area. Temps unseasonably warm in high 70s.
