While in Orlando, I visited a plant nursery and butterfly center. In the milkweed section of the nursery, where milkweed is for sale and out in the open, I witnessed three wild Monarchs drinking nectar. The temperature was in the 80s that day. Orlando had a little precipitation from the last storm that came in the week prior.
Note: this nursery does have a butterfly encounter in a greenhouse and buys their larvae for butterflies from other farmers in Florida, but that is not what I am talking about in this report. I am only accounting for the wild Monarchs outside. To my knowledge this nursery does not release their butterflies into the wild.
