Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 11/16/2022

Number: 1

We are continuing to see rufous hummingbirds on a near daily basis, which is a new experience for us. Until these sightings, we had never observed rufous hummingbirds here before. We also think there have been different individuals. For several days last week, we observed an adult male. Yesterday, there was either a juvenile or adult female. This morning, we saw a juvenile male at our feeder. We had flowers still blooming until a few days ago; they were taken by the freeze. We are maintaining 2 heated hummingbird feeders. Temps tonight drop down into the 20s and will remain in the 20s at night for at least 5 nights. I pray they all heading to warmer winter destinations.
