This Monarch Butterfly was on the ground and was dead. It seemed very late in the season for it to be in our area so I wanted to share with you in case it would be helpful. Of note in Spartanburg, SC where I reside, I saws tropical milkweed in bloom and so this could be a problem in our area. Please let me know if you need another picture of the dead monarch butterfly.
