Our first western species hummingbird sighted in our yard since 16 October 2022 (when we had a buff-bellied hummingbird). It is a Rufous/Allen's hummingbird. It was nectaring from small native red morning glories. It did not stay long enough for me to get good photos. We had ruby-throated hummingbirds in our yard every day from 1 August 2022 through 14 October 2022, and have been seeing ruby-throated hummingbirds off and on since then.
