While we counted 12 monarchs flying around the milkweed plants at Google we also noticed another dozen or so in a small grove of trees at the end of the block. While they landed briefly in the trees they didn't stay long and we didn't see any roosting. The weather was clear, calm and in the mid 60's. The prior week we counted about a dozen or so as well and had just noticed their increased numbers by the trees. Several of the monarchs appeared worn and with missing wing parts while others bright and younger.
