I have 3 Rufous hummingbirds. I have one adult male, one other one that is a male but not mature and this one that is pictured. I am not sure but I think it is a female.

I have to spend a lot of time outside to see all 3. Mostly I see the one that is a male but isn't mature. I call it the "Yard Guard" because, even though I have 3 feeders up and very far apart it chases the others off quite frequently. I did photograph the 2 males on one feeder but only once.

I live in Alamogordo, New Mexico and I have had winter visitors for the last few years. 12/1/22
