Monarch Waystation #271 reports sighting the previously tagged local female monach at 10:15 am touching her abdomen to the undersides of leaves as if laying eggs on the potted golden tropical milkweeds on the back patio. Could not get a photo of her, very skittish. I did not find any eggs when I searched later, so either she did tried to lay eggs but had none left, or her eggs were eaten by other insects. It got into the 60s that day but down to 46 that night, did not see her again after this date.
