Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 12/10/2022

Number: 1

Our juvenile male Rufous, Raphy, continues to feed from both feeders throughout the day, although he definitely prefers one location over the other. Daytime temps remain mild and we are near both a creek and a wetlands area, so I would imagine the insects are still plentiful. I can always tell when it's not a good bug catching day, as he is at the feeders more often, just like our bluebirds and other insectivores. The red in his gorget continues to come in nicely. He is a very dapper Rufous. I'm going to try and get some photos of him this week. It's definitely a treat to have a winter hummingbird.
