I didn't see this Monarch come out of a chrysalis; however, it looked like it was new as it was so perfect and pristine. In addition, it was wobbly and walked on the lantana finding flowers to nectar from. I don't know how long it had been there before I saw it but after I started to observe it, it stayed approximately an hour then flew off quite vigorously over our house.
