We were surprised to see monarch butterflies at Tohono Chul last Saturday. It had been below freezing for a couple of nights and most of the flowers had frozen back.

Turns out someone had raised them and released them in the garden. It sure was fun to see them this time of year. Once the flowers are gone, so are the butterflies until it warms back up.
