My husband and I observed what appeared to be a migration of robins. They were following the wood line at the back of our property moving from the south to the north. This went on for several hours during the afternoon. I had wild bird seed out but they weren't interested in the food. What they were interested in was the water in 2 birdbaths, I refilled both twice during the sighting. It is hard to estimate how many but it was massive. What a wonderful distraction to our afternoon. Unforgettable!
