At the onset of Winter Storm Elliott, during the warm front period, with rain, it apparently got warm enough to bring local Honey Bees out of dormancy. (861 Indian Church road). When the arctic air mass overtook the region it caught hundreds of bees in flight. At the above location, on the melting snow immediately adjacent to the hive entrance, dead bees litter the area.
