I saw dozens of robins flocking all day today. I am used to seeing clusters foraging here and there on the ground, but I have never seen so many flying all at once or landing in groups on tree branches like they were. Not sure if this counts as a wave or the first robins of spring since I feel like they're always hanging around in some number, but what I saw today was definitely unusual.
[Altered quantity field from 0 to 12 to reflect number in comment, 01/24/2023; additional information contributed by observer on 02/02/2023]:
There are at least 12 in that photo and I think I must have seen at least 50 during the day zipping by and flocking in a larger tree.
