After an all day yesterday viscious storm, literally with tornados coming thru vicinity male Rufous was not bothered by it.
Today his usual routine at feeder first 7:30 a.m, then back out around 8 a.m. to red porterweed blossoms that got clipped by wind. Rockin deep purple has buds he checked on. Still no go to fuschia hanging basket.
I was watching American gold finches on other end in steady rain yesterday, when the Rufous came to see the deal hovering watching them up close. He stays up in maple tree, holly tree sometimes near song bird feeders. We're good today just a lot of wind and I suspect that's why he can't nectar on wind moving coral honeysuckle blossoms.
