2023 Mosquito season has begun in the greenhouse. Columbus hunts at 2ft above the floor, dashing between plants. Photo shows his catch. Earlier, he used to fly 18ft high (close to the ceiling)nonstop from 8am to dusk, stopping only to sip nectar/sugar water. Also, he doesn't hunt all day. Work hours are now 8am (when the greenhouse curtain opens) to 2pm. After 2pm, simply rests, making occasional trips to Buddleia Orange Sceptre that has been blooming since last Spring and Ruttya fruiticosa, a winter bloomer. Though he loved Senecio confusus in Fall, he is ignoring fragrant blooms of Senecio cristobalensis. Camellia x Spring Awakening is ready to open. He is checking the buds daily.
