Sightings report image

Date: 01/17/2023

Number: 10

Danaus plexippus portorricensis
Lots of butterflies are flying and laying eggs around my flowers this year. I have noticed that they are mostly enjoying the sweet pepper plants. They also like zinnias and gardenia flowers. I am providing water and baloon milkweeds to help with reproduction. I am very happy, because after the Maria hurricane, we lost many many species of both flora and fauna. Somehow, these “monarch cousins”, are very alive and well.
