It was a sunny day, 68 degrees with a light wind out of the north. We saw the first Monarch as we sat by the water. Then as we walked toward a grove of Eucalyptus trees. Several more Monarchs flew by. Further up the trail, moving away from the water, a grove of pine trees had numerous Monarachs were observed. We had no idea that this is an area where they over-winter.
