Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 02/28/2023

Number: 2

One Black-Chinned started the day at the feeder. Mid morning was time to pack-up and drive to another park so the feeder was put away. About 10-15 minutes after the feeder was removed a male Costa appeared looking for the feeder by circling the location where the feeder had been. Before moving on he made it clear he wasn't happy and began buzzing past my head and darting at my face a half dozen times. What an interesting response.

I have spent this winter putting out Hummingbird feeders in the Arizona deserts to see what is wintering in the deserts and sky islands. It has proven to be a wonderful exercise!
