Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/04/2023

Number: 1

Raphy, our young male Rufous hummingbird, is still here with us in NC prepping for his upcoming journey. His adult plumage is coming in nicely. He definitely is looking more and more like a dapper Rufous every day, and also most definitely a male, as his gorget is really filling in. Lots of Spring flowers are in bloom now, and you can see plenty of insects flying around. Honeybees and bumblebees have both been spotted. Raphy looks solid and is putting on weight for his long trip. He also appears quite content and zooms around as if he owns the place. He definitely knows he is a hummingbird, and a Rufous at that. :)
