Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/08/2023

Number: 1

Here is a photo taken today of Raphy, our 1st year male Rufous hummingbird, who has been with us since late October. As you can see, his Rufous copper coloring is coming in nicely. He is molting heavily right now all around his crown, beak, and throat. It's hard to see in this photo, but the red in his gorget is also filling in beautifully. His tail and wing feathers are in good shape. He has good weight to him and appears to be healthy and strong. He loves to sit either on his feeder or one of his other perches and observe the activity of all the birdies. He finds them fascinating to watch and he loves to zoom all around the yard just as fast as he can. :)
