A beautiful lively monarch (couldn’t determine the sex) heading north!

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a photo, but between the size, coloration, and soaring flight pattern, I'm certain it was a monarch. March 3rd was a bizarrely warm day, so we saw a number of animals who don't usually appear until a month or two later.
I don't have much more information to share, except perhaps a little more about the area--we have a small field of wildflowers beginning to grow in our neighborhood, and while I didn't see the butterfly stop on any, we may very well have milkweed growing somewhere, so hopefully as the temperature gets consistently warmer we'll find some eggs soon too.
