Number: 1

At 7 a.m. just happen to look out in a foggy, misty, rain Houston morning today when I spotted a chubby adult male rubythroat. He was looping in looking at a wooden hummingbird decoy hung by the Perky pet 48 oz octagonal feeder in photo. Swung down to budding purple Squtlaria I wish would hurry up and open, in which this is a definite good plant attractor this spring. With all these Pacific cold fronts and previous heat in 80' right before cold fronts,5 potted budding out red yucca, and Indian shot canna lilies will be favored by females. If females ever get here thru the weather problems. Males are very a abundant this spring, just keep coming.

Chubby male rubythroat seems to be a new one by his different behavior of yesterday's male that
I think moved on. This one has also been seen on both feeders hung on patio.
I would like to note this years spring male migrant rubythroats seem to prefer perky pet feeders with perches this year. I dug out the 48 oz octagonal feeder for additional results. High
view disk feeders for some reason are not working for males like in past.
