Monarch Egg Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 04/09/2023

Number: 2

Today I saw many fresh milkweed plants, and a surprising number of them had fresh monarch eggs on them. (which is what I meant to say in my monarch adult report!)

We had heavy rains and thunderstorms April 5-7. I didn't see any monarchs during those days. I did see a few on April 8 and more today. Some of them must have been actively laying eggs as the rains abated.

Eggs laid on fresh Aclepias viridis milkweed. Photo of the lovely monarch laying them shown in Monarch Adult report.
