I saw 12 eagles climbing in an updraft + 2 more flew in from the northwest for a turn, but then flew back toward the northwest.
Only two were close enough at the beginning to see 1 adult and 1 dark juvenile.
They climbed several hundred feet (with the sun in my eyes). I saw 9 depart toward the southwest. I lost the others.
I heard a few conversational calls. The updraft was to the south of me over the Leschi neighborhood of Seattle.
1:35 pm
4 more eagles in the same updraft - perhaps some of the lost eagles climbing again.
2 departed to the east and two circled wide over the lake and descended to about 200 feet.
Photo shows cloud rings formed in the updraft and 4 tiny eagles above to the right.
