I was so excited this morning, I had a adult male Ruby Throat Hummingbird at my feeder. I was out in yard with watering can and I seen him at the feeder by my patio and it was flashing it's full bright red ruby throat, I stood there a good while and watched him and then walked on up to patio and it keep drinking and it throat now looks black and it continued to drink and then it flew right by my face when it left. I'm guessing this one was passing through and was good and thirsty since he was there for a good while and didn't fly off when I walked up to the patio.
None of my plants are flowering yet, but I did go out yesterday and purchase a hanging basket with red petunias in it and hung by the feeder.
Nice temps here in Irving, TX today. Expected high for today is 75 degrees and expected low 52 degrees.
