At around 5pm I came home from errands. This pair of mating monarchs was on a yellow thistle by our driveway. Another male bothered them a couple of times, and eventually this pair flew off together ~ probably to more private tree leaves. Thistles are a very active monarch space. I saw another 6 individual monarchs flying & nectaring in the surrounding area at this same time.
