Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 04/19/2023

Number: 2

Today two monarchs emerged from their chrysalises ~ 1 male, 1 female. They were from the rescue eggs brought in when we had freeze-damaged milkweed in late March. These two had formed their chrysalises on April 9th. They were released this afternoon and both flew to our nearby sweet gum tree. This is a photo of the beautiful female before her first flight.
