Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 04/22/2023

Number: 1

I would like to clarify my report today I put in Baltimore Oriole. We see and call Baltimore Orioles Orchard Orioles in that it's a sub species. I was told by my Houston experts.
The feather plumage is so close with sub adults to i.d.what exactly. Or they don't have breeding plumage yet. So many different Orioles come thru, with bright orange, dull orange and some with yellow/ orangish plumage, full deep orange/ red plumage. Some have shades of deep orange like Rufous hummingbirds have.

Here is what I put if JN would like to alter the first report to this one:

2 p.m. today a male Orchard/Baltimore Oriole with a light orange plumage was sighted up in desert willow tree maybe getting necter off a flower, also a feeder hung on trunk of tree there.
I was planting a new Concord grapevine bc neighbors fence people flattend our old one this week. For some reason all past Orioles like the new leaf shoots on grapevines. Concord grapes are in a bunch hanging on new vine.
Oriole was looking at me when on top of desert willow tree. 3 grape jelly, orange feeders have been out and missing jelly, with orange rinds left. Tefulling feeders.Try to get a photo when he comes back later. I do Cornell orchard Oriole sounds that attract them.

Orioles on their way!
Wish female rubythroats would come thru, 0 so far.
