Our first male Rubythroat is here! Same exact day as last year. I heard but didn’t see him as I sat on the porch around 4:30. He flew past with a very loud buzz as if to announce himself, but he didn’t stop at the porch feeder. My daughter saw him just minutes ago (5:20) on a pink rhododendron, and then he flew to the living room feeder nearby to have a nice long drink. Seems like he’s one of our regulars. Soooo happy to have him back. We’ve had feeders out since a warm spell in March and an early sighting in Warwick, RI, keeping them full and fresh for any hungry passersby. They were just refilled this morning … good timing!
