Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 04/27/2023

Number: 1

Yesterday (04/26/23), this male monarch emerged from his chrysalis. He had been brought in as an egg & formed his chrysalis on April 15th. He had emerged late in the afternoon yesterday, so I decided to keep him overnight. We had thunderstorms in the middle of the night with a 1/2 inch of rain. Today he was ready to go at 3pm. It was 70 degrees F, big traveling clouds in a blue sky, with 73% humidity, and winds from the NW. A lovely day and he was eager to fly!
