Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 04/28/2023

Number: 1

Shortly after 9 a.m., I looked out the window -- ORIOLE!! A handsome fellow: the contrast between black and orange was very sharp and distinctive.

I was surprised, and at the same time, not surprised to see him. The weather patterns of late have not been conducive to migration. Cool north winds with occasional rain have prevailed lately.

However, there have been oriole sightings nearby. Yesterday evening I heard the distinctive chatter of an oriole, confirmed by a Bird Song ID app. And finally, it is within the historical range of when orioles typically return.
