Bald Eagle

Date: 04/28/2023

Number: 3

Yesterday I reported that I thought a young eagle from last year was at the nest. I was incorrect. We have had a very long and hard winter, and from where I watch the nest, I completely missed the two young chicks that were born. Today I see them on the edge of the nest. From the feathers, I would estimate them to be about 6 - 7 weeks old. One adult is staying by the nest. Today I observed the two young ones sitting on the edge of the nest spreading their wings and hopping a little, although they still look rather awkward. The adult eagle leaves periodically and returns with food. I can watch them tearing at what is brought back to the nest.
