We put our Hummingbird Feeders out on April 28, 2023. I sit by that window approximately 5 hours a day.


Today at 4:35 pm, we saw our first Ruby-Throated Hummingbird!!!! It's an adult male. He hovered for less than a minute beside the feeders but did not stop or drink. I watched the feeders until 6:50 pm but didn't see him again.

It has been sunny all day with an average temperature of approximately 70° F.

Judging by the time of year in our area I suspect he's a migrant, though I hope he stops for a drink before leaving the area!
