Sightings report image

Date: 04/29/2023

Number: 1

I've had a number of sightings over the past several days, starting on 4/29. All were male and all were seen on the feeders. None of these birds lingered, as migrating birds in the fall did. They landed on the feeders, drank, and flew off. Almost all flew off to the west.

4/29 - male on a feeder, drank and flew off
5/1 - male on a feeder, drank and flew off
5/2 - two sightings: (1) 9:03 AM, male, drank and flew off, (2) 12:30 PM, male, drank and flew off
5/3 - five sightings today, the first at 6:21 AM. I can’t be certain they’re all the same bird, because several hours went by between some of the sightings. The last sighting was at 1:54 PM, three hours ago. I did manage to get a quick photo, but it was from a long way away and I had to crop it heavily.

The weather here today has been horrendous: heavy overcast, occasional rain and sleet, 46 degrees, and wind NW 3-7 mph gusting to 13. He may have been waiting out the storm before leaving.
