Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/06/2023

Number: 1

I was beginning to wonder if I was in a no fly zone. This has been the latest in the last twelve years for me to report my first ruby-throated hummingbird. Possibly due to colder than normal spring temperatures. Sighted one male hummer looking a bit well fed at one of my four feeders at 9:20AM. Temperature was 56 degrees with partly cloudy skies and a 10mph wind out of the SE. High temperature expected today near 72 degrees and continued cloudiness and 10mph breezes all day. Watched throughout the day but didn't see any more hummers, so this male was possibly a northward traveler.
