At 12:30pm it was 75 degrees F, raining lightly, with strong
gusting winds. I saw a faded-winged monarch flying around the large, old pear tree in our backyard. The monarch then took refuge there. Later, when the rain & wind had subsided, I saw it flying jauntily around our front yard as I drove off on errands.
